Back again with some additional family members. Great as usual and excellent weather for mid February. All staff friendy as usual and a big thanks to Lisa and Ralph who assited us with a couple of problems we had. They asked and listened to our concerns and addressed them more than satifactorily, A+. Family members had not been here before and yes they too would come back, as will we.
...a small hotel that represents good value and fantastic service. We had planned to stay there for two days at the beginning of our holiday while we searched for a more upscale hotel. Instead we ended up staying at the Bay Shores for six wonderful days. The location is close to the pier and restaurants (Momma D's is excellent). Loved the warm cookies that are served every day in the hotel at 3:00. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really easy access to the Pacific Coast highway and the 55 freeway.
This is a great place! The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The beach is so close and the service was spectacular! Bridget was very sweet and helpful with local recommendations. The hospitality and overall feeling of warmth from everyone there was great. The rooftop deck was a great perk with beautiful views. I will absolutely stay there again if I have the fortune of being in the area
We stayed here last year after running in our first ever Half marathon.....the Surf City marathon.... and enjoyed it so much we returned again this year. My husband and our friend took on the challenge of the full marathon while the ladies tackled the half again. We can not say enough about the great staff, Warren, Ed and Bridgette were always willing to help us with anything we requested....wine glasses, hair dryers, directions or suggestions on places to see and eat. The morning breakfasts were great and the evening cookies delicious.
We were in the area for business and decided to stay near the beach. We are so happy we did! This is definitely a place we will come back to and look forward to it! Class, charm and character sum it up.
We found Bay Shores on line, (while travelling Route 66) read the reviews and decided it was the place for us and wow what a place. Looks small from outside but inside is great. The rooms where spotless, the beach is not even 2 minutes walk and the staff fantastic. I had the misfortune of spraining my ankle the 2nd night in and the staff could not have been more helpful. They even offered to put me on the luggage trolley to get me back to my room. (haha) The homemade cookies were a fantastic treat for my partner also.
We stayed here for 1 night during our trip up PCH last September. I read the reviews on TripAdvisor and wasn't disappointed! The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is clean, spacious and the hotel staff are so friendly and welcoming. There were delicious (still warm!) homemade cookies in the lobby which really hit the spot on our arrival from the San Diego area and they had a good DVD library - we did end up checking out a DVD to watch that evening which was very enjoyable.
Other than all the typical comments on location, value, good breakfast etc, the thing that comes to mind about this hotel is the outstanding friendliness.
From the moment we checked in, we felt welcome. There was even a handwritten card in our room welcoming us.
We had the privelage of having Warren checking us in, but they were all very nice.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat
We'd never visited Newport Beach before this trip, and chose the Bay Shores Peninsula based on its previous Tripadvisor reviews. We can only echo the vast majority by saying our stay was very good. As it turned out, we didn't spend a whole lot of time in Newport Beach [b]ut the time we spent here was very comfortable. All of our interactions with the front desk staff were great. (And, yes, they did feed the meter for us the one time we weren't able to get a parking space in the hotel lot.) The breakfast was just fine, with plenty of options. And the DVD library was a very nice touch.
This hotel is more like a motel in standard as you enter your room from a balcony running all along the back - which I find kind of charming and old Californian. However it IS a hotel with an excellent reception service offering you to lend a large range of DVD-films, magazines beach towels, beach toys, beach chairs and even boogie boards. We stayed in rooms 221 and 223 on the second floor and could just see the beach through the houses on the other side of West Balboa Boulevard. Although we could hear the traffic at points it was not disturbing during our stay (in early January).
